Don't miss Watlington Wildlife Open Gardens on the 19th July 1 - 5 pm. Watlington residents are opening their garden gates to show their nature-friendly gardens.

You will be able to visit:

  • A beautiful cottage garden with native wildflowers, pond and toad home

  • Watlington's precious and rare chalk stream flows through wild wooded areas

  • A bat bird and newt-friendly garden with pond, pollinator-friendly planting and more

  • A traditional cottage garden, with a pond, a woodland area with a stumpery, and wildflowers

  • A nature-friendly garden with native plants, log piles and a pond with islands and marshy areas

  • A wildlife haven for hedgehogs, birds and amphibians with ponds and wild areas

  • A pollinator-friendly garden with a five-star luxury bee hotel

  • A canopy of green with the sound of the brook and birdsong, a wildflower meadow area and a wormery

  • A stunning mosaic of different habitats for wildlife, including a woodland area and a pond

  • A magnificent wildlife pond showing what is possible in a small but inspiring wildlife-friendly garden, with a local artist in residence

  • A forest garden, permaculture area, wild meadow and seasonal pond, belonging to a professional gardener

The event is free! A few notes for everyone's well-being: please park responsibly and walk or cycle if possible. Children must be accompanied.  Please take care as the gardens have uneven ground. Refreshments are available at our wonderful local pubs and cafes. Public toilets are available.

Please see the map for more information.

Enjoy and be inspired! What could you do for Nature in your own space? You can also join our facebook group Watlington Area Garden Nature Reserve, for more information and support.
