On 6th February the Homes & Energy team led by Kate Brown ran a community advice desk at the Parish council offices. The session, supported by Low Carbon Hub, provided information and guidelines on how to make homes more energy efficient and help with heating challenges.
The initiative was a great success with a constant stream of locals taking the opportunity to discuss individual energy challenges and troubleshoot ideas for efficiency measures. With soaring energy prices and some exceptional cold snaps this winter, such support has been well received. As a result, there will be a second session held in the Granary Café on February 20th, 10:00 -12:00 AM.
The advice provided was based on training offered by Low Carbon Hub following a set of guidelines outlining specific steps we can all take to reduce costs and stay warm. Their Warmer Winter guidelines can be found here: https://www.lowcarbonhub.org/energy-saving-advice/warmer-winter-checklist/
